MARAFA MALINDI

Half-Day Excursion

This is a half-day excursion, from 2.00 pm until late afternoon.

Departure from Watamu, we will pass directly from your resort by car with driver, in the direction of the largest Canyon in Kenya.

We will take the road towards Malindi, up to the junction for Marafa; from there the road is completely unpaved, the typical African road. We will pass through many villages until we reach the Canyon after about 1 hour.

There you will learn about the true history of the Canyon and the legend about its origin. We will take a long walk through its gorges (safari marafa), until we return to the starting point around sunset. The moment of sunset is the magical moment of Marafa: the red rocks shine with the sunlight, and if we are lucky not to have clouds in the sky, you will be able to see the most romantic sunset of your life!

Whoever wants to bring something for the children, this is the right place. There are many poor children in this area, so anything will be a real treat for them! At around 6.30 pm, we will leave to return to your villages in time for dinner.
